On July 2, 2016 Katelin and Kris said. "I do" at a lovely lake wedding. They shared their vows at Kris' dad's lakefront house at the beautiful Fish Lake, SK. It was such a peaceful and romantic wedding ceremony. They allowed myself and a small group to be a part of their first look, including their beautiful little daughter Alyssa. • Kindle Workshop

On June 19th, 2016 I had the opportunity to learn from one of the best! Melody Slemming from Mela Photography led a small group of professionals through a day full of wedding photography tricks, techniques, and valuable lessons. We also took part in a creative shoot, where numerous vendors collaborated to offer a beautiful setting for bride and groom portraits. It was a fantastic day! Not only did I learn a lot, but I also met some wonderful professionals. We all had the idea of, "community over competition." This empowered me to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things, ask questions, and collaborate with some wonderful individuals. Thanks again to Melody for the fantastic workshop! Below are some of the images I took from the day. • Father's Day

My dad is a great man! He is a farmer, a rancher, a mechanic, a vet, a coach, a grandpa, an uncle, a husband and more. He has worn many different hats throughout his life and he excels at everything he does. He is one of the hardest working people I know and always has something that needs to be done. I am thankful for that. I am thankful because, he has taught me that hard work is inevitable and if you want to succeed, you have to work for it. These life lessons are valuable and have showed me that hard work and determination are worth it. He is my Superman! Thanks Dad. Love, Jas

  • Graduation: Cassie

I have the most beautiful clients! Cassie is such a wonderful girl! She is continuing her education in the fall at the University of Saskatchewan and I have no doubts that she will be amazing. Now on to the session! First Cassie and I took a trip to Little Red River Park. As I scanned the beautiful park there was a hidden path just to the right of the bridge. Cassie was a natural and giving her any direction was minimal as she knew exactly what she was doing (whether she admitted it or not). After we were done with our hidden path we moved onto the bridge. As I steadied myself numerous times, adjusting my camera bag to ensure it didn't fall into the river, Cassie continued with such grace. Our final stop was a quiet street downtown. We took advantage of the cool brick buildings as a backdrop. I am sucker for anything old and interesting. Cassie did a fantastic job and I am so happy with the images that were taken. Below is a peek into her session. Good luck in your future Cassie! I wish you all the best in the fall. Cheers, Jas

  • Family Session: Robillards

It was a beautiful evening capturing this wonderful family! Not only did we take great photos, but they also agreed to trying videography as well. It was great to document both images and videos for these three. Now onto the session! Baby Kohen was full of curiosity when he arrived at the session. In fact, he was so curious that it took a little bit of time for him to show us his adorable smile and giggles. However, Mom and dad had no problems getting him to smile! As the bugs grew near, we ended our session with some great family shots and spent some time reflecting on their new bundle of joy and how their lives have changed. These two are wonderful parents and I can't wait to see baby Kohen grow up. Enjoy! Jas

  • Practice Can Only Make You Better!

I never have a chance to just practice. A famous photographer Jasmine Star from California, referred to photography like a professional athlete, you need to practice. This weekend offered me enough time to practice new techniques and along with it, celebrate my beautiful friend Chelsea. She is a hard working and caring lady who I am lucky enough to call one of my best friends. She drove all the away into Prince Albert to be my model on Saturday and didn't hesitate when I asked her to bring almost her entire wardrobe. We met in the morning and got started right away! Anyone who knows me well, knows that when I have an idea I want to try it right away. Well, I messaged Chels on Thursday and she came into the city on Saturday. Thanks Chelsea for your flexibility and easy going attitude! Enjoy! Jas

  • Mommy and Me

On Saturday May 28th, I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with some wonderful ladies and their kiddos. All ladies were so welcoming and so willing to try all of my ideas. Along with the fantastic moms were their kids. Each and every one of them were so different and unique. Some quiet and some outgoing. This is what I about photography, I get to work with so many different people and I get to capture their personalities through the images that I take. The first session was with Lisa and her girls, Addison and Avery. These girls were so sweet and adorable. Avery was shy at first, but she didn't hesitate when I asked her to give her mom a hug and often gave her a kiss on the cheek as well. Addison jumped right in! She started off with the biggest smiles and kept them coming! Next came Courtney and her spontaneous, hilarious, and cute three kids, Aubrey, Torbin, and Marin. These kids made me laugh from start to finish. From their hilarious jokes to the way the hugged/tackled their mom when I asked them to all gather around and give her a nice hug. They kept me on my toes and I loved it. Lastly was Kirsten and her two little gentlemen, Tye and Ryder. They started off quiet, but soon became more comfortable. These two boys were so sweet with their mom. They even spent time finding the right flowers to give her during the session. Once they found the right flower, they continuously reminded her to keep them safe and not to step on them. It was adorable to say the least! In the end, I loved doing these sessions! I will definitely continue this in the future. Often at times, mothers are always the ones taking the pictures, rather than being in them. It was great to see these moms step in front of the camera and share the moment with their children. I also came to the conclusion that doing the session at a ball park with a playground near by was the best idea, I think the moms could agree on that as well! All the best, Jas

  • Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a day where we reflect and acknowledge the love and support our mothers have given us. I cannot help but think how much time and effort each and every mom gives out every day. I am in awe of all of the women in my life that do this each and every day. It is amazing how they take care of everyone else while sacrificing any time for themselves. Being a mother is a full time job and I applaud to all of the wonderful ladies out there that are doing it. My mom is a great example of someone who continually takes care of everyone else. She always has time to chat and makes a point to ensure that everyone is happy and well. One day is not enough to recognize her greatness. Happy Mother's Day! Love you mom Cheers, Jas

  • Summer

It is amazing how the change of weather adds a new breath of fresh air to your life. As the snow disappeared and the grass started to appear I found myself appreciating not only the things around me, but the possibilities that come with summer. I started to make a list of all of the things I would like to accomplish this summer. Such things as, getting outside everyday or canning the vegetables that I hope to grow in our garden. I don't know if it is the warm breeze that has brought me to these new found goals or what, but I am excited to get started. What goals are you setting for yourself this summer???

  • Raylan's Cake Smash

I was so excited to capture this little cutie's cake smash. Let's start with the fabulous cake made by my talented sister, Kelsi. The cake was both sleek and cute, which was great to photograph. If you are looking for a cake be sure to ask Kels. Along with the fabulous cake, Raylan was unsure about sticking his hand in it (I guess the cake was just too pretty to ruin). It took a while for Raylan to feel comfortable enough to really explore. With help from mom Shaye, he began to see the fun in destroying a perfectly well made cake. As he continued to carefully take the cake apart, I captured all of the smiles, giggles, and frowns from this little birthday boy. The cake smash came to an end when he crawled into his mommy's arms and sat there waiting for us to clean up. Now on to the clean up! As we all quickly Swiffer Wet Jetted the floors we placed with wash basin full of warm water and bubbles in front of the backdrop and began session two. Raylan loved the bubbles and playing/talking with his tub toys. He was continuously smiling right till then end when he was ready to be done and offered a small pouting lip to let us know he wanted to get out. Thank you to Raylan for being such a little trooper. I love sessions where clients don't worry about the camera and just go for it! Happy Birthday Raylan!
